The Reetz family is made up of Rick and Barbara (who just celebrated 37 years of marriage) and three grown children, Mona, Super and Janelle. While holding down full time jobs, in addition to training and showing horses for outside customers, Rick and Barbara The 2001 Colorado State High School Rodeo Association Queen, winner of the horsemanship competition, purchased her horse from Reetz Family Performance Horses. Rick has been involved with horses all his life. He started competing locally at small shows as a child, gaining experience that later led to qualifying horses for world championship shows.

Reetz Family Performance Horses 
served The Reetz Family as 4-H leaders. Their club members, including their own children, excelled showing against professionally trained horses. Many weekends were filled hauling their kids to 4-H events, local horse shows and rodeos. With a lot of hard work, they have all developed various areas of expertise related to the horse industry. Rick and Barbara wish to pass on their experience to others by providing quality horses and related services at competitive prices. This is the mission behind the Reetz Family Performance Horse business.
Showing in several states, he has trained regional champions in western pleasure, reining, trail, roping and halter. As a 4-H leader, he has had many students win local and state 4-H honors, with one going on to win National Little Britches Rodeo Queen, National High School Rodeo Queen, Miss Rodeo Colorado and Miss Rodeo America. Rick has judged many competitions, including the Miss Rodeo Hawaii contest. He has competed in USTRC, qualifying for their finals. Having competed in team roping and horse shows at these various levels, it was apparent that well trained, quality horses are hard to find. With this thought in mind, the Reetz Family venture has begun to fill this void.
Barbara has gained a reputation for patience in training horses and working with people. Through her involvement in the community, she has judged and organized many local horse shows, queen contests and speech contests. Many of her students have won local and national competitions. Barbara has trained and shown several horses who were winners in Western Pleasure classes. She enjoys working with young horses or horses that have been pushed to hard. Her style of training allows a horse too "let-down" and learn in a relaxed and non-stressful manner.
