HIGH ON LIFE! John and Marjolane Burnett of California, called looking for a safe horse for Marj to use to check the cattle and if John could heel on the horse it would be even better. After several lengthy and humorous conversations with John on the phone, they headed for Colorado in July, 2005, to check out our pick - Docs Cattle King. It was a match made in heaven – just like the two of them! John provided us with this picture of him and his grandson at the Northern California State ACTRA Finals held in Red Bluff, CA in September,06 . On the 4 steer average, the duo had the FASTEST time in the 3rd. go (7 seconds) and finished 6th. out of 153 teams. Had a leg not slipped out of John’s loop, they would have WON the roping! Next qualified roping – Reno, Nevada!
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS BUD FENSTER?
You can bet if he is in Wyoming, Arizona or wherever, his good gray team roping horse, Rock Fork, isn’t too far away. Bud purchased Rock Fork, a Pitchfork Ranch bred gelding from us in, November, 2002. Through the years, Bud has kept us informed about Rock fork and his roping prowess and provides us with pictures – just for proof! Wanting to be more competitive, Bud started tie down calf roping on Rock Fork and has been successful in that event too!
